Iowa KidSight Screening
Iowa KidSight is a joint project of the Lions Clubs of Iowa and the University of Iowa, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, dedicated to enhancing the early detection and treatment of vision impairments in Iowa's young children (target population 6 through 48 months of age) through screening and public education. The goals of the project are: 1) Objectively screen vision in infants and young children (age 6 months to 4 years) throughout all of Iowa's 99 counties -- for FREE. 2) Educate the public about the risk of undetected vision loss. 3) Identify ways to sustain vision screening programs of this type. Visit the KigSight Iowa web sight (http://webeye.ophth.uiowa.edu/IowaKidSight) if you would like more information regarding the service or contact Don Varnum (Ankeny Lions Club's KidSight coordinator) if you would like to schedule your child for screening.
