Midwinter 2018

Midwinter 2018 will feature many seminars which are non-lion. Some examples are Internet safety, Social media, MyLion app and more.

Be sure to join us on Friday, January 12th to participate in the the Iowa Lions STRIDES walk for Diabetes and bring your old T-shirts as we will be using them to make bags for the homeless!

Friday evening entertainment will be Professor Savage’s Traveling Medicine Show. This performance will include 19th Century vaudeville, short acts from period plays, humorous poems and readings and song! You also have a chance to purchase Professor Savage’s Swamp Root Elixir! There will also be a torch ceremony to commemorate Lions 100th Anniversary. Plan to come for the Friday activities!

Featured speakers will talk personal experiences with diabetes and pediatric cancer.

International Guest will be International Director Patricia Vannett.

Director Patricia “Pat” was elected to serve on the International Board at the International Convention in Chicago. She has been a Lion since 2003 and has held many offices including Club President, Zone Chair., District Governor and Multiple District GLT Coordinator. In recognition of her service to Lions she has received an Extension Award, a Membership Key, an International Leadership Award and an International President’s Award. She also is a Melvin Jones Fellow. Director Pat will be conducting a seminar on Leadership and Mentoring. Come meet ID Patricia Vannett!
