2011 Breakfast with Santa
On December 3rd the Pleaasant Hill Lions Club volunteered at the city's Annual Breakfast with Santa. Members helped pass out food and drinks, clean tables, assist Santa and Frosty.
Pleasant Hill SummerFest
The Pleasant Hill Lions Club participated in the annual Pleasant Hill SummerFest on July 30th. The members sold popcorn, snow cones and cotton candy throughout the day. Spin art was available for artists of all ages.
3rd Annual Pleasant Hill Youth Fishing Derby
In June, the Pleasant Hill Lions Club and the Pleasant Hill Park and Recreation hosted its 3rd Annual Fishing Derby at Copper Creek Lake Park in Pleasant Hill. The weather was wonderful that day and the event was the best one yet! Everyone including the kids and their parents had a great time!
Pleasant Hill Lions Club Scholarship Winners
On May 3rd the Pleasant Hill Lions Club awarded two outstanding individuals with scholarships. They are Brittney Michael who will be attending Drake in the Fall, and Shawna Wilson who will be attending Grandview in the Fall. We congratulate them and wish them the best of luck next year.

Pleasant Hill 9th Annual Soup Supper
February 18th Oakwood Methodist Church from 4:30-7:30pm. This is free will donation event filled with great chili and potato soup, desserts, live entertaiment, door prizes, and a silent auction. Proceeds goes towards two $500 scholarships to local seniors.
Oakwood Church is located 56th Street just South of Hwy 163 in Pleasant Hill.
Beryl
During our recent meeting at The Shores of Pleasant Hill, we had a special guest appearence from Burrell. Burrell has been a long time Lions Club member and is now a resident at The Shores. Also in attendence was Tanner, Director of The Shores, and Pat Kelly, a representative from the Iowa Energy.
Melvin Jones Fellow
The Melvin Jones Fellowship was created in 1973 in the name of the founder of Lions Clubs International, Melvin Jones (1879-1961). This is not an award, but the highest form of recognition to acknowledge an individual Lion's dedication to humanitarian service. Currently, there are nearly 180,000 Melvin Jones Fellows worldwide. The commitment to serving their community has not gone unnoticed!

Warren G. Coleman Award
Jerry Roland presented Kenny Dean with the Warren Coleman Award. This award is presented to members in recognition of their contributions to Lionism.

Daisy, a future leader dog, made a special appearance at the September 21st meeting.
Lion Kenny Dean Recieve The International President's Leadership Medal
The annual State Convention was held on June 5th-7th in Mason City. Kenny and Teri Dean was able to attend the event. During the International Banquet Kenny Dean was presented The International President's Leadership Medal for all his hard work within the Lions Club. Congratulations Kenny.
